After two weeks off for Cup games Timsbury returned to league action with an emphatic 5-2 away win at Wrington in this Div 1 Uhlsport Somerset County game.
Williams in the home goal was called on to make a fine save in the first minute when Lutwama played Cook in on goal. Cook was then just wide with a shot from the edge of the box. Clements saw a long range shot clear the bar at the other end.
Timsbury took the lead on 15 minutes when a cross from the left by Neilson found Hancock ghosting in at the far post to head home giving the keeper no chance. Almost immediately the score was doubled when a shot from Lutwama was unfortunately handled in the box, Cook stepped up to make no mistake from the penalty spot. Neilson was unlucky when his shot on the turn was pushed around the post by Williams in the Wrington goal.
The home side steadied the ship and after a period of concerted pressure they reduced the deficit. A fine run by Ferguson – Obamwanyi ended with him being bought down on the edge of the box. From the free kick Clements curled his shot around the wall and into the top corner of the goal to make it 2-1. Hewish should have levelled the score soon after but he put his shot high over the bar from inside the box.
The match was effectively finished as a contest during a crazy six-minute period immediately after the restart with Timsbury finding the net four times. Straight from the kick off Lutwama chased a long ball into the corner, he was able to lay the ball back to Neilson who saw his low right foot shot from the edge of the box evade the diving keeper and end up in the bottom corner of the net to make it 3-1.
With the next attack a cross from Cook found Lutwama unmarked at the far post to shoot home, only to be given offside. Then a speculative clearance from the halfway line by Swarbrick deceived the Wrington defender who could only head the ball straight into the path of the unmarked Cook who easily rounded the keeper to make it 4-1.
With the home defence in disarray Neilson made it five when he was given time to shot from inside the box with the keeper unable to make the save. Wrington did get one back with 10 minutes left after a fine run and cross from Williams found Creese free in the box to slot home, but by then they were well beaten
