South view of Timsbury Old Church, taken down 25th May 1825
This water colour shows the church when it was rebuilt in 1837 by the then deceased rector of Timsbury, the Rev. Brudnell Barter almost entirely at his own expense. The chancel, as it is now, had not been added. The old church had fallen into such disrepair that it was considered best to demolish it entirely and rebuild. There was a false story in the 1960s and 70s that the church had burnt down.
This information is based on that written by Rev. H V Davies on 1st August 1975.
