Growing on an allotment is a wonderful way to get good food, fresh air and help with neighbours.
There are 68 allotment plots on a site off Lippiat Lane which are managed by the Timsbury Allotments Management Committee on behalf of the Parish Council which owns the site. The Committee consists of a Chairman (which is currently by circulation at each meeting), the Secretary and Treasurer, plus other plot holders.
You are welcome to apply at any time, although you may have to wait to be allocated one. A full plot costs £22 rent to year or sometimes there are half plots. We help beginners to get going and keep going to enjoy some wonderful produce.

Details about how the allotments are run are in the plot holder’s signed Agreement, and also in the Allotments Handbook which you can read or download here:
Finance
The allotments administration are financed by rents from the plot-holders which are collected by the Committee in early January. This money is paid to the Parish Council who are responsible for paying for the water supply to the site and the overall infrastructure of the site.
The rents also pay towards a grant which the PC gives to the Allotments Management Committee each year to pay for upkeep and maintenance of the site. This pays for items such as communal tools, fuel, clearing of vacant plots, notice boards, hedge-cutting and insurance as decided by the committee in consultation with plot holders. The Committee are accountable to the plot-holders at the AGM in early December each year.
The annual accounts are shown below.
