Timsbury Athletic are Champions in the UHlsport Somerset County League Division One having gone throughout the season undefeated at home with 13 victories and two draws. The team played some of their most attractive football for years.
One of the secrets of the success was the strong squad created with some crucial pre-season recruits and there were no end of outstanding individual performances throughout the campaign. One of the most difficult problems for the loyal band of supporters was deciding on their player of the season as so many of the team were worthy of the accolade. Leading goal scorer was Rhys Cook who notched more than an average goal per game with 31 to his name while young captain Callum Taylor was an ever-present starting in all 30 league games.
Huge congratulations go to the whole squad and managers Ben Ward and Ben Hancock who have brought Somerset Premier League football back to the Recreation Ground for the first time since 1999.
