May 2019 – Eight candidates, all currently serving councillors, who were nominated to stand as Parish Councillors for Timsbury Parish Council will be returned unopposed without an election on 2nd May as a result of there being less than the 13 places available, which is based on the current electorate of 2,057. They are:
Mary-Anne Ansell, Sheila Clark, David Collett, Mike Horler, Stan Martin, Ray Merchant, Josie Pownall and Derek Wheeler.
Vacancies on the Parish Council may be filled by co-option, ideally at the 8th May or 1st June Parish Council meetings. Anyone interested in joining the Parish Council for the next four years should contact Chris Gittins, the Parish Clerk. On 8th May will be the first meeting of the new Parish Council when the Chairman and Vice Chairman will be elected.
Four Parish Councillors have stood down; Veronica Packham after 30 years, 13 as Chairman, Rob Young after 24 years, Ruth Bailey and Dave Lorriman.
There will be an election on 2nd for the election of councillors for B&NES Council in the Conygre Hall.
