Buses & Transport

Last updated: 1st February 2018

A summary of current bus and transport in the village is here.

Saving Bus Services

Update November 2019

A Timsbury Bus Working Party is coordinating activities with bus users to ensure Timsbury has a bus service to Bath in the long term. It is supported by the Parish Council. It is linked wit the B&NES Rural Transport Working Group.

Continuing the 179 Service

The 179 service to Bath and MSN has been saved by B&NES Council for a year to 2020. It is now run by local CT Coaches and is linked with its 768 sevice. See the timetable here.

Planning an Alternative Service

In case the 179 is withdrawn by First Bus next year at some date,  Timsbury is working with the other villages to set up our own community run service, with paid drivers like a normal public transport with through-ticketing.

This involves a lot of research and the timetable would aim to suit more people and include Saturday.
