The Placemaking Plan, in which B&NES, the village and the Parish Council have allocated sites for about 50 houses in Timsbury, has overall been approved by the Government. The Parish Council is responding to some of B&NES minor modifications and the Plan will finally be ‘adopted’ by B&NES as part of its Core Strategy in April/May. It will then become the fixed policy for deciding all future planning applications.
B&NES is also about to review the Core Strategy again, although this should not affect Timsbury directly.
The West of England Joint Strategic Planning Strategy and Transport Strategy which looks forward to 2036, will be reviewed by the new West of England Mayor after the election on 4th May. The Parish Council has already stated its disappointment in the lack of proposed investment in transport in the Somer Valley area.
