There are 66 allotment plots on a site off Lippiat Lane which are managed by a Committee on behalf of the Parish Council. You are welcome to apply for a plot at any time, either a full of half plot. We help beginners to get going and keep going to enjoy some wonderful produce.

Road Safety Group
We are residents of the village who share a concern about the road safety within the village – both for road and footpath users. We are open to anyone and are non-political. See our page here.
We meet at 7.30pm on the 2nd Tuesday in the month at the YMCA hall, North Road, Timsbury, (next to the Co-op). New members are very welcome at any time, just come along and introduce yourself or contact one of the committee. We hold many activities that promote gardening and crafts for members and the public:
- Annual Spring Show
- Annual Flower Show in August
- Annual Craft Fair
- Talks and demonstrations
- Visits to interesting gardens in the area
- Lunch and dinner events
Village Planting & Spaces by the Parish Council
The Parish Council coordinates planting in many boxes and tubs across the village with many volunteers. We also manage the Miners’ Memorial Garden and the Triangle in Church Lane. Some of this is supported by involving the Community Payback Team of people doing their Community Service. We are aiming to make the planting more sustainable – lasting longer, beneficial to wildlife and possibly including some edible plants. The scheme was originally started by villagers inspired by the In Bloom national scheme.
Get in touch if you have any ideas or would like to help out in making the village look attractive – there is some much that we could do.
St Mary’s School also does some gardening projects with the children.
Taste of Timsbury
The first Taste of Timsbury Food and Drink Festival was held in Sept. 2016. Around 1000 people turned up on a glorious sunny day to sample the wonderful local produce, hear talks on food related themes, and learn top cooking tips from the experts. The buzz was fantastic and the feedback we have received has been incredibly positive. The next one will be on Saturday 23 Sept. 2017. Before then we are networking with many local groups and businesses promoting local and good food.

We are a relaxed group of villagers who have big ideas to build a more sustainable and resilient life style for the community. We have recently taken action on local food, transport, green energy and climate change, fracking etc. Find out more about how the group works towards these broad aims and join us.
