179 bus service saved until at least August 2020

21st September 2019 by Timsbury Parish Council

Starting on Monday, November 11th the 179 bus service will be provided by CT Coaches. The new Monday to Friday service will run from Bath to Midsomer Norton town centre and on to the new Beecham Place development at the southern edge of the town.

Extending the route will mean that frequency will be approximately two and a half hours. Buses for Bath are scheduled to leave Timsbury (British Legion stop) at 7.23am; 10.06am; 12.36pm; 3.06pm and 5.41pm. Return buses will leave Bath Bus Station at 8.10am; 10.40am 1.10pm; 3.40pm and 6.15pm.

The Saturday service will leave Timsbury (British Legion stop) at 7.45am and return from Bath Bus Station at 5.40pm.

CT Coaches will also operate the 768 service to Bath and the 668 Mondays-only service to Bristol that leaves Greenvale Drive at 9.16am and returns from Union Street, Bristol at 1.10pm.

From November the 179 service will be funded by B&NES Council and this cost will be offset by fares paid. The shortfall between cost and fares paid will be a significant factor when the service is reviewed next year.
