B&NES Council has announced the intention to temporarily close North Road, from its junction with Bloomfield Road, to its junction with South Road; including Lansdown View and Crocombe Lane. The road will be resurfaced and the pavement by Chapel Walk will be widened. The closure will be for around two weeks and will start on or after Monday, August 13th.
Temporary closure will also apply to Mill Lane, from its junction with South Road to its junction with St. Johns Road, a distance of approximately 210 meters, and also the entire length of Hillview. Resurfacing work will begin on or after Friday, August 17th and is expected to continue for one week. UPDATE – THIS HAS BEEN POSTPONED.
Traffic redirection signs will be in position when these roads are closed.
All this means that the road will have less potholes for when the cyclists come through North Road on 4th Sept. for the Tour of Britain race.
Do you know when it will be complete, please? We have to come back that way with the caravan on 25th August!
Sadly we are not yet sure when the work will start. August 13th is the earliest and if it starts then it should to be finished by 25th if the work goes according to plan.
And the Timsbury Show is on the 18th August plus staging on Friday 17th..
Does anybody know what will be happening to the bus services throughout the road closure? There’s no signs on any of the bus stops and unfortunately First Bus customer service telephone line is rather busy. Thanks.
Hi I Spoke to B&NES and the they said that during the pavement works in North Road this week and resurfacing next week the 179 and 768 buses will be diverted down South Road and The Avenue 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday.
